I would love to see us re-engage as a church with the Vantage Point curriculum or some other creative discipleship tool that makes our formation as followers of Christ a goal. Workshops on contemplative practices would compliment this offering well! Once again…some feedback but not sure if this is what we are looking for at this stage but it my offering! 🙂

I This should continue to be an ongoing strategic focus.

I am not sure why this statement needs to include a reference to diversity, which is already addressed in statement 4. I would rather add words to strengthen the core statement about the what and how of Strengthening Spiritual Formation.

I think that acknowledging the diversity of individual journeys is an important point to include in this statement. I could support an alternate word to diversity such as unique (or others). But by removing the statement entirely we miss an opportunity to acknowledge that spiritual formation is not ‘one size fits all’.

Diversity is being addressed as a separate statement and I feel should not be used in defining this one. I think the word “journey” is more secular as opposed to our Christian pilgrimage. This is an important statement and one we should continue to focus on.

I agree that strengthening spiritual formation is important. I feel I need to study this topic further before commenting. Here is an article on spiritual formation that I found.
